I wrote my first song about a grasshopper when I was six, red-stained fingers and all in mom’s raspberry patch. All was right with the world. That feeling of joy in simply being is still the strongest for me in the writing room, wherever that happens to be -- my car, on a mountain, shopping, on Zoom... As the middle of 5 sisters, I think it was fated I'd become a performer so someone would “notice me, please!” In 2012 I drove my uhaul from Oregon to Nashville and found my tribe. I write country, pop, jazz, musical theatre and CCM. Love co-writing, solo-writing, and dragging my keyboard to songwriter rounds. Occasionally I flirt with learning to play guitar.
Some of many songwriting heroes are Don Henly, Sara Bareilles, Hugh Prestwood, Jeff Silbar, Meredith Wilson, Anna Nalik, Taylor Swift, Tim Nichols, and Angela Kaset.
